How to Delete / Block a User Account – Windows 10
Windows 10 operating system can only be used if you have a user account. You can create a user account by creating a Microsoft account or a local user account. But Microsoft account has a huge benefit over another because it can allow you to download apps from the Windows App Store.
If you are having the latest version of Windows 10 then your local user account now has the privilege to download applications from the Windows Store. If your family or friends sharing your computer, then you should create a unique account. Some of these accounts might be created temporarily.
Now, there might come a time when you want to remove unnecessary accounts which are not in use anymore or might want to block some account. It doesn’t matter which of the following methods you choose; they all do the same thing.
Make sure that you are not deleting administrator accounts because there should be an account that has administrator permission granted to it so you can perform functions.
Block a user account
Open “Settings” app from your windows 10.
Click on the “Accounts” link to get all the related settings.
Click on the “Family and other people” appeared on the left pane. You will see the other accounts, not including yours. Click the desired account which you want to block, mentioned below “Your Family”.
A drop down will open up. Click on “Block” to block that user account. The block won’t happen right away. A pop-up will appear to ask for confirmation. Click “Block” again to go ahead with the blocking of the account.
Delete a user account
Open “Control Panel” and search for “User Accounts”. Click on user accounts.
You will see the account that you are logged in to. No need to panic. Click on “Manage another account” appearing almost in the middle of the screen.
A list of all accounts will appear. Click on the account which you want to delete.
Click on “Delete this account” appearing on left. Another dialogue will appear showing “Delete Files” and “Keep Files”. These are the files which are associated with the account which you are trying to delete. Choose your desired option.
