Cortana is the cloud-based personal assistant that works on all your Windows 10 devices, but the range of features depends on the version of Cortana and the device you are using. Cortana is your virtual assistant, who addresses you by calling your name. It’s the name you have in your Microsoft Account just like apple software has Siri and for, other there is Google voice account or Google assistant.
Cortana helps you to search your Windows device and the web. You can ask some quick questions to Cortana; ask for some translations and calculations. It also sets alarms for you and much more. Cortana can also ask for permission to use your personal data for some of the tasks and you can decide whether to allow or not. You can always manage those permissions though.
When you first set out Cortana on your Windows 10 device, you’ll be asked to register a username on your computer. Your username registers as the name Cortana and it can be anything from your real name to a form of address or a nickname. If you want to change the name of your Cortana follow below easy steps.
In Windows 10 computer, firstly click on the Cortana icon in your Taskbar which is on the right side of the home page then click on the Notebook icon which is (a rectangle with a circle in it at the left side of the screen), further click on “About me”.
You will find the area saying “change my name’’.
Just type in your new name which you want to change or register then press Enter and give that a try to hear how it sound to confirm that Crotona will speak it correctly’’.
Now each time you open up the Cortana menu, you’ll be referred to as the name that you choose. That’s it. Now you can enjoy any name you like to be called by your own personal assistant.
