How to Change the Time Format on MacOS?

Have you ever get confused because of the time format, every time clock says it’s 17:08, and you didn’t get, Now You can switch between a 12-hour clock and a 24-hour clock in the “Language & Region” section of the System Preferences menu.

This is also dictated by the region you’ve selected, If you want to customize the way your clock is laid out, you can shuffle the elements to your content.

Set time format to be 24 hour time.

1. Click on “Apple” icon, located on the top bar of your mac screen.

2. From the drop-down menu, click on “System Preferences…”.

3. From System Preferences, click on “Language & Region”, just like the below image.

4. Check the box next to “24- Hour Time”.

5. Now you had enabled the 24 hour time format, and you can notice that from your clock on the top bar.

**NOTE** If you just don’t want your time time format to be 24 Hour, just leave it unchecked.

 

How to make a custom format of your time

1. Click on “Apple” icon, which located on the top bar of your MacOS.

2. From the drop-down menu, click on “System Preferences…”.

3. From System Preferences, click on “Language & Region”, just like the below image.

4. Click on “Advanced”, to proceed for how to create custom format.

5. From the tabs that will show to you, click on “Times” tab, just like below.

6. These different lengths are used in different areas of the system, This lets you select how the data is displayed. For example, clicking the minutes element can let you pick between “03” and “3” for the time.

7. You can also switch the “AM” and “PM” labels to whatever you’d like, just give the label you prefer.

NOTES: If you had set Outlook Email on your mac, please note that after changing the date or time settings, the new settings will not take effect in Outlook until you open an item or click a different folder in the folder list.
