Very few people know what ZIP files are and their use or application. If you’re looking for how to create zip files on your iPhone or iPad, you’re one of the few who know.

For example, you know that ZIP files help you make space in your phone to make room for more items. Thus, without much ado, create ZIP files on your iPad or iPhone using the steps below.

How to Create Zip Files on Your iPhone and iPad

Start by launching Files and choosing your preferred location – for example, iCloud Drive or On My iPhone/iPad.

You can access these by tapping ‘Browse’ at the lower right corner of the screen.

Next, look for the three-dot icon (…) on your screen’s upper right corner and tap it.

Then, on the drop-down menu, choose “Select.”

Now, choose as many files or documents as you need on the newly-opened page.

After selecting the files you want to compress, tap on the three-dot icon (…) at the lower right corner of your screen.

Finally, select “Compress,” on the menu.

That’s it!

Note: If you choose more than one file, it’ll create a ZIP archive named Archive.zip; feel free to change the name anytime.
