Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 11
If you see a message like “Windows requires a digitally signed driver” or something similar, this is the problem. Windows has a number of security features built in by Microsoft to keep your computer safe. One of these is Windows 11’s Driver Signature Enforcement.
If you turn off driver signature enforcement, you can install drivers that haven’t been signed. This can help you install older or custom drivers that Microsoft hasn’t digitally signed, but it can also make it more likely that you’ll install drivers that aren’t safe or work well.

Windows Recovery Environment (RE)
On the Start menu, click on the Power button.
Hold shift then click on the Restart button.
Select Troubleshoot.
Click Advanced Options.
Select Startup settings.
Click on Restart button.
Windows may ask you to provide the BitLocker Recovery key to ensure that no one else is accessing the data.
Lastly, press F7 or 7 key to boot Windows with the Driver Signature Enforcement feature disabled.
The system will restart with the Driver Signature Enforcement being disabled. Now you can install the unsigned driver you want on your PC. Just restart the computer to turn on the feature again.
Advanced Boot Options
Restart your PC and as soon as it start to boot up, hit the F8 key repeatedly before Windows starts to boot to launch the Advanced Boot Options.
Using your arrow keys, select the Disable Driver Signature Enforcement option and then hit Enter.
Most of the time, if you turn off the feature for that, updating the driver should help the device work better.
Driver Signature Enforcement is there for a reason, and turning it off defeats the whole point. Microsoft only signs drivers that have been carefully checked and proven to be real and reliable.
These are the ones that should be installed. But if you want to download a driver that isn’t signed, make sure to do a lot of research on both the source and the driver itself. Once you’re happy with the results, you can turn off the feature and install the driver.
