Disable Recent Files and Folders in Quick Access Windows 10

When we open folders and files Microsoft Windows 10 create a shortcut of mostly open folders and files in quick access so that whenever we need to open or access the file or the folder it can quickly be accessed through quick access feature the quick access also keeps some other folders like pictures documents downloads and desktop so that these mostly used folders can quickly be access.

If you want to disable this option so Windows does not automatically keep source folder under quick access, follow this procedure. Open any of the folders and on the right side, you will be able to see some of the mostly open folders under quick access.

Now click on the view option on the file menu, it will show all the view related settings of the folder.

In view options menu, the last option is options. click on the button and it will show you option of change folders and search option.

When you click on change folder and search option it opens folder options configuration box.

In folder options under general tab, you can see privacy option. In privacy, there are two options show recently used files in quick access and show frequently used folders in quick access.

These two options are responsible for showing recently used files and frequently used folders under quick access. click on the clear button to clear the old data and uncheck these two options. click apply and then ok.

Now you can see all the recent folders has been removed and from no on, mostly used or recently used data will be maintained under quick access.
