Enable Text Prediction for a Hardware Keyboard on Windows 10

You may have seen the text predictions in the keyboards of your mobile phones. The same feature is available in Windows 10 with the name of “Text Suggestions”. It is enabled, by default, for the touch keyboards used by Windows 10, but you can also enable text suggestions in windows 10 for hardware keyboards of PCs and laptops.

As you may have seen, in mobile phones, the text predictions appear floating above the typing text when this feature is enabled. In this article, we will see how to enable text prediction for hardware keyboard on your Windows 10.

Enable Text Prediction for a Hardware Keyboard on Windows 10

Open the windows settings, by using the keyboard shortcut “Win + I”, and click on the “Devices” option in the settings.

In the Devices window, select the “Typing” option.

Go to the “Hardware and Keyboard” section and turn on the text suggestions. Here you can also enable the autocorrect option if required, and windows will autocorrect any mistakes that you may make while typing.

One must understand that text suggestions for the hardware keyboard are not compatible with every language. However, it does work with the English United States as tested. If you use another language, you need to test it on your own.

After turning this feature on, you will start seeing the suggested words while typing with your physical keyboard. The featured work with many apps including the Microsoft applications. For instance, you will start seeing suggestions on MS office, Outlook, Chrome, and many other applications.
