The smaller updates that roll out monthly have less issues, but the major updates always come with issues and bugs. These issues don’t impact everyone so most of the people think that their system is faulty. The Windows 10 Fall Update is creating Wi-Fi disconnecting problems for some of the users.

The fix to this issue is simple but it comes with its own challenges. For the normal user, this fix will not impact any important functions of windows, but it may not be useful for advanced users.

Wi-Fi disconnection is not a common problem. So, if you were having this issue before upgradation to windows 10 fall update then this solution will not be helpful for you or may not fix the problem.

To fix the Wi-Fi disconnection issue on Window 10 after the Fall Creators Update, you  1st need to disable Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter.

To disable Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter, Follow the following steps.

Go to the Device Manager. You can also type it into Windows/Cortana search to find it. If your Windows search is broken like it is for many people, type “devmgmt.msc” in the run box to open Device Manager.

From the View menu, select “Show hidden devices”.

Now, expand Network Devices and see for Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter. Right-click on it and select ‘Disable device’ from the context menu.

Restart your PC (This step must be performed).

Your disconnecting Wi-Fi should be fixed.

Please note, Mobile hotspot function will not work with windows 10 fall creator update after disabling Microsoft Wi-Fi direct virtual Adapter.

If you use this feature to connect to mobile for internet, then this solution should not be applied. It may also not work with Mi-Fi devices for internet connectivity.
