FIX: The File Cannot be Opened Because There are Problems with The Content

This error message is quite common when attempting to open word documents such as.docx or.xml files. There are several reasons why Microsoft Office stops operating properly and reports such as large sized files and incompatible versions.

Repair

Open any Word file and go to the File tab.

Select Open and click on Browse.

Locate and click on the file that contains the error.

Click the drop-down option in Open and select Open and Repair.

Use Google Docs

Send the Word file that has the error to your Gmail account.

Open the attachment in the Google Docs previewer.

Select Open with Google Docs.

Click on File.

Select Download As and choose Microsoft Word.

Open the file after downloading.
