FIX: We’re sorry, but Excel has run into an error

“We’re sorry, but Excel has encountered a problem that prevents it from operating properly. As a result, Excel must be closed. “Do you want us to fix now?” shows a Repair Now option. To fix the Excel file, click the Repair Now option.

Run Excel in Safe Mode

Press Windows + R on your keyboard.

Type Excel /safe and press Enter. This will open your Excel in Safe mode.

If you open a file and no error message appears, go the File tab.

Select Options and click Add-ins.

Click on the Go button to view available add-ins.

Unselect all the checkbox to disable the add-ins and click OK.

Disable Compatibility Mode

Right-click on your MS Excel Application and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, unselect all checkboxes to disable compatibility mode.

Click Apply and OK.

Try to open any Excel file to see if issue has been resolved.

Repair MS Excel

Open Control Panel and click on Uninstall a program.

Look for your MS Office and right-click on it.

Select Change.

Choose Quick Repair or Online Repair.

Click Repair and follow any on-screen instructions.

After the repair, try opening any MS Excel file and see if you have solved the issue.
