Hide, Delete or Restore the Recycle Bin Icon in Windows 7 – Windows 8 – XP

Transfer Windows and Installed Data to Another Hard Drive

A simple video tutorial on How to Delete, Remove or Restore the Recycle Bin Icon in Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows XP Desktop

Deleting in XP Pro:

  1. Go to START > RUN and Type GPEDIT.MSC
  2. Navagate to USER CONFIGURATION >ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES >Click on DESKTOP,
  3. Double click on ” Remove Recycle Bin icon on the desktop ” the right hand pane. Then click on ENABLED and click Apply.
  4. To Re-enable the icon, click on Not Configured or Disabled.

Deleting in Windows 7 and  Windows 8:

  1. Right-click on the desktop, choose Personalize, then choose Change desktop icons on the left-hand side.
  2. Then simply remove the check from the Recycle Bin box:
