How to Add an Emergency Contact (s) to your iPhone
The need for emergency contact (s) cannot be overemphasized. Emergency contacts are valuable contacts who can easily be contacted during a crisis or urgent situation.
Emergency contacts appear as your next of kin on your medical record and receive automatic SOS messages when you use the SOS feature when set up. There are two ways to set up or add an emergency contact, and we will show you how.
You can add emergency contacts through the health app or a contact card. Here’s how.
Adding an Emergency Contact Using the Health App
First, Launch the Health App on your Home Screen.
Then, tap your picture at the top right corner of the screen and select “Medical ID.”
Next, tap “Edit” in your screen’s upper right corner and scroll down to the emergency contact section.
Then, select “add emergency contact” – Your contact list will be displayed afterwards.
Scroll down and select a contact or type in their names (one at a time).
After selecting the contact name, a pop-up menu showing various relationship descriptions will appear. Tap on the appropriate one.
You can add more contacts by tapping the “add emergency contact” option.
Once this is completed, select “Done” in the upper right corner of the screen.
Add Emergency Contacts using Contact Cards
First, Open the Phone app and tap the contact tab in the middle of the options at the lower portion of the screen.
Then scroll down to find your preferred contact or type in the contact’s name – the contact details of the individual will be displayed.
Next, scroll down and tap “Add to Emergency Contacts,” then select the relationship description that fits.
Afterwards, your medical ID details will be displayed; tap Done at the upper right corner of the screen.
You can repeat this step for other contacts as you see fit.
Remember to add people who are easily accessible and reliable.
