The IP (internet protocol) address is composed of numbers; it identifies your iPad, iPhone, and any device connecting you to the internet. It is only on rare occasions that you have to worry about your IP address.

However, whenever you do, it’ll be to protect your privacy, access content that’s unavailable in your country, or resolve Wi-Fi connectivity issues. In these cases, you may need to change your IP address; let’s show you how.

Changing Your IP Address on Your iPhone or iPad

You only need a few minutes to change your IP address, and you can do that in the following steps:

Go to the “Settings” on your iPhone or iPad app and open it; Then, Tap “Wi-Fi.”

Next, look for the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to and tap the “i” icon in front of it.

Then, on the new page choose “Manual” and enter the new IP address.

After that, go to the IPV4 Address section and select “Configure IP.”

Lastly, tap “Save,” at the top right corner of your screen.

Another alternative is renewing the IP lease.

This process is just as short and simple as the manual process. Here’s how;

  • Launch Settings, then tap “Wi-Fi.“
  • Next, tap on the Wi-Fi network you are connected to, or the circled “i” icon beside it.
  • , select the Renew Lease option. A prompt will appear; tap Renew Lease.

There you go! Now, your IP Address is more secure.
