Sending group messages is helpful for different reasons. Most importantly, it’s an easy way to communicate and plan with more than one person at once.
For iPhone users who want to create a group text and also name it, our little guide will help you out.
Using iPhone Messages to Create a Group Chat
First, open your Messages app.
After that, press the Compose icon located at upper right corner of your screen.
Then, type the names of the persons you want to be a part of the group.
At the top of your screen, you’ll see this option. You can also add people from your contacts list by tapping the Add icon – the circled plus sign.
Then, in the text area above your keyboard, type your message.
To send, tap the arrow button after you’ve typed your message.
Naming a Group Chat on iPhone Messages
First, open your created group text.
Next, tap the group icons at the top of the message thread. ( If you use iOS 14 or earlier, tap the info button instead.)
Next, tap Change Name and Photo. You’ll find this option under the group icons and names of people on the thread.
Then, enter your new group chat name. You can also add a group photo by tapping the Camera or gallery icon.
Finally, tap Done to set the new name.
