How to Embed a Text File in MS Excel 2016
In Windows 10, Notepad is a built-in app to create or open the text files. Text files are straightforward to open if you get them from someone else too. Internet browsers, MS Word, and Notepad, etc. applications are helpful in this regard. MS Excel is also a handy app to open a Text file. You can also embed the important text to your MS Excel Worksheet.
In this article, I will explain how we can open embed a text file in MS Excel 2016. Follow the following steps.
Embed a Text File in MS Excel 2016
Search for Notepad application by clicking on the search icon in Windows 10 Taskbar. Click on the Notepad icon to launch this application.
Type or copy the text in Notepad that you want to embed in MS Excel worksheet.
Navigate to the search icon in Taskbar and search for MS Excel. Click on the MS Excel app to open it.
At the home window of MS Excel, click on Blank Workbook to create a new MS Excel file.
Select the cell in which you want to embed a text file. Now click on Data option at the top ribbon of MS Excel. Click on From Text/CSV at the top left in Data options.
Import the Text File from your system.
A new window will open in front of you. The selected text file data is divided into different cells. To embed the text in a single cell, click on the Delimiter option at the top.
Now, this is a critical selection. Select the Delimiter option, which is absent from your text. In our test case, Equals Sign is missing.
The embedded text is now visible to you in the virtual MS Excel sheet available in the opened window. All the text will be integrated into a single cell now.
If you want to edit the text format, click on the Edit option at the bottom or click on Load to embed the Text File in MS Excel worksheet.
Your selected Text file is now embedded in the MS Excel worksheet.
Content of your text file will be added in the excel file.
