How to Enable Dark Mode on Your iPhone and iPad

Over the years, several improvements have been made to phones – androids and iPhones to increase their aesthetic appeal and help them function better.

One of the most popular and widely appreciated improvements is the invention of the dark mode. Dark mode makes everything better – it has health benefits for the users and the phone itself.

This feature is found in several phones and devices, including iPhones and iPads. However, your device must be running on the iOS 13 or a higher version to enjoy this feature.

Here are some simple ways to turn on the dark mode on your iPhone or iPad.

Enable Dark Mode on Your iPhone and iPad

Open your Settingsapp and tap on the Display & Brightness option.

Beneath “Appearance,” located at the left upper corner of the screen, you will find two previewed screen displays showing the dark and light modes. They simply show what your screen will look like in either mode.

Finally, Tap the circle under “Dark.”

If you don’t want the dark mode on throughout the day, you can use this menu to schedule specific times for automatic changes from/to dark mode.

Tap on the Automaticslider, then tap on “Options” to create the schedule.

This option features a default “Dark Until Sunrise” option and a “Custom Schedule” option that enables you to create your preferred schedule.

Lastly, you can quickly create a shortcut that allows you to switch between light and dark mode seamlessly.

You will need to add the dark mode toggle to the Control Center to enable it.

Open Settings > Tap Control Center > select Customize Controls. Then, scroll down and find the Dark Mode option and tap on the + button next to it.

Dark Mode Alternatives

If you have difficulties accessing the dark mode or stumble on Apps that don’t support dark mode, you can fall back on an alternative – Smart Invert. While it doesn’t work for all Apps, it can serve as a reliable alternative to Dark mode.

To activate it, select Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text size > tap on the Smart Invert Slider.

The true black background offered by the iPhone and iPad dark mode ensures readability, preserves eye health and gives your screen and apps an impeccable new look.
