How to Find Email Headers in Outlook 2016

Whenever we receive an email, it is not just simple text. It contains a lot of other information related to that email for which we are not aware of and those are not shown in the email to end users as well.

That hidden information is called Headers of the email and it contains information from where the email comes.

Headers contain the IP address of the originating server? How much time did it take to reach to the destination, what path email followed to reach the destination? All these information can be retrieved using email headers. To see and collect the headers in outlook 2016, please follow the following steps.

Find Email Headers in Outlook 2016

Click on the start menu and start type outlook, it will show outlook in the top of the list. Click to open it.

This will open outlook for you.

Now look for the email and double-click to open the email. This will open the email in new windows.

Now click on the File menu and then click on Properties.

It will open up email properties for you. In the end, you will find headers of the email. You can copy it and use it.

You can also open the message properties box by clicking the arrow button in the tags group of the email open in new windows.

Once copied, close the dialog box to return back to the emails window. Following these steps, you can find email headers of all of your email and use them for later troubleshooting.
