How to Fix Black Screen After Windows 10 1903 Update

Nowadays everyone is excited about the new update from Microsoft Windows 10. (Windows 10 Update 1903). It’s a cumulative update and has introduced many new features like Light Theme, Windows Sandbox, a new process for the Windows start menu and many more.

You can update your copy of Windows 10 by checking for updates in Windows settings. (Settings–Update & Security–Check for Updates).

You may come across an issue where you get a black screen after your Windows restarts after the installation.

This is scary as you might think that Windows get into trouble and you have lost everything. Well, this is not the case. Microsoft is aware of this issue and as of now, there is no answer why that happens but Microsoft shared a fix for this.

If your Windows stuck in a black screen after Windows update, press Ctrl+Alt+Del keys altogether. A blue screen will appear with the power button in the right corner.

Click on the power button and then click Restart to restart your PC.

Once restarted, your PC will not be stuck again at black screen after the restart and it will boot normally.

If the solution doesn’t work, try some of the steps below.

  • Forcefully shutdown your computer/laptop by long pressing the power button.
  • Make sure that keyboard and mouse are properly connected and the battery is charged as it may go into the black screen.
  • Press Win+Ctrl+Shift+B keys altogether to restart your PC graphics drivers.
