How to Fix Missing Taskbar Icon in Windows 11

Windows 11 brings a lot of changes, and the Taskbar is one of the things that has changed the most. But with new features come new problems, and this one is no different.

Many Windows 11 users said that their Taskbar icons are missing, and some said that their Taskbar was broken. This can be a big problem because you won’t be able to use your mouse to access some features. You’ll have to find other ways to do things.

There are a few ways to fix this error, so please read all of the steps below and follow them carefully.

Use a Single Monitor

Users say that using more than one monitor could cause Windows 11 Taskbar icons to not show up. This is a known bug, so you can only use one monitor until it’s fixed.

Restart Windows Explorer

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

Under the Processes tab, look for Windows Explorer.

Right-click on it and select Restart.

Update your Windows 11

Press Win + I to open Settings.

Go to Windows Update and click on Check for updates.

Install any updates shown.
