How to Insert an Attachment Into a Word Document

All of us have attached files to our emails, or attached a file using cloud services or may be provided a URL for a file. Especially when someone is working for an organization digital documents are shared on a regular bases.  Sharing files via email is very easy and convenient.

However, if you are drafting a file in MS Word you can conveniently add a file in Microsoft Word as well.

Embedding a file in MS Word will be more convenient for you when drafting a document to keep track of all the documents and embedding them directly into the document. This option will make it easier for the reader as well to get all the necessary information in one file without having to open all the attachments separately.

It is a very convenient idea to attach a file directly into the Microsoft Word Document while drafting to save time.

Insert an Attachment Into a Word Document

Open a Microsoft Word Document and Click on the Insert Tab

Now click on Object in the Text Category

A new dialog box will open. Click on create from file and click on browse.

Select your desired file and click on select to attach the file to your word documents.

Now you will be able to see the attached file in your Word document. This file can be opened by double-clicking on it.

You can also attach images or other documents such as excel documents using this method.

However please note that this method will not be able to attach large files that require other data to run e.g. attaching a software directly to the word file will not work as it would require other data to run the software.
