There are many unique features in Windows 10 that includes advanced Cortana, Universal apps, Improve multitasking and Xbox app. But there are some hidden features and the most interesting feature is logging in to a Windows 10 computer without entering your password even though you have set a password for your computer.
This unique feature allows you to login to your computer without entering a password at the startup screen. This applies to both local accounts as well as the Microsoft online accounts. When enabling automatic logon process it is recommended that you apply it on a computer were only you log in.
If your computer is a shared computer please make sure to follow the practices required to safeguard your data on the shared computer like setting up encryption and passwords.
To enable automatically login Windows 10 please follow the following steps.
Click on start menu and search for run or press Windows + R key. In run box netplwiz and click Ok.
This will open up user accounts dialogue box yeah you will be able to see all of the accounts created on your computer and if you are the only user of the computer you will see your own account.
There is a checkbox on top “user must enter a username and password to use this computer“. Uncheck this box and click on Apply, it will ask you to enter your username and password. Once entered, press OK.
Now Restart your computer and it will automatically log you in. Please make sure that you have set the password on your computer account this will not login in if you have set up Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your computer.
There is a free utility (AutoLogon) also available which gives you a small GUI where you can only enter your username and password and it will enable automatic Logon for that user.
