How to Restart the Crashed App in Windows 10

Windows is an operating system that welcomes almost all type of software to run in it. There are much software running in the background all the time. The probability of the software to crash is always present. An application may crash due to many reasons and fail to respond again.

This article will tell the step by step method to automatically restart the crashed application without reinstalling it or shut down the system.  Follow the steps below to automatically restart the crashed application.

Download the software Restart on Crash. This is free software.

This software doesn’t require any installation. What is required is to download and extract the compressed file on the computer. Click on the extracted folder and double click the Restart on Crash application file to run the software.

When you open the software, click on the Add option in the top left of the screen.

It only supports .exe file. The crashed application is required to be added. Make sure that the application is in the running state in Task Manager.

Check the option It’s not responding to Windows messages and It isn’t running in Add New Application window. Click on the Select a running application to add the .exe file of the crashed application.

Running applications list will open, scroll down for the application which you want to set as a crashed application. Click on the executable file of the crashed application and then click on the Select in the bottom right of the window.

Don’t add the system file of the windows that you are unfamiliar with. It may corrupt the Windows files.

The application will be added in the software. It will remain there till the user delete it manually. The crashed application will automatically restart after the count down.

After the countdown ends, the selected crashed application will run, and the status will be changed to Running.

You can use this tool to setup automated application monitoring to ensure that the required applications are running. And there is no need of human intervention.
