How to Rollback Windows 10 Drivers Installation / Update

Computers are a combination of a lot of integrated components. Every hardware component needs software to run. This is what we call drivers in computer language. Without drivers, the computer hardware is nothing.

Drivers play an important role in the computer’s performance and we need to make sure that drivers are always up to date. The manufacturers normally send the updates from their hardware but sometimes it crashes. When this happened, we needed to roll back the drivers installation.

In this article, I will explain how we can roll back a driver’s installation. Follow the following steps.

Rollback Windows 10 Drivers Installation / Update

Click on the start menu button and then search for This PC and on the right panel, click on properties. You can also open properties by searching the device manager.

On the device manager, right-click on the hardware and then click on the properties.

On the properties dialog box, click on the driver’s tab.

If there is a new update installed for your driver, you will have the Rollback driver button enabled. Click on the button Roll Back Driver.

On the next screen, the system will collect some information about why you are rolling back the driver’s update. Select the appropriate option and then click Yes.

Once done, the windows will start the driver rollback process and your PC will restart once the rollback process is done. After the restart, check if your PC hardware is working as expected.
