How to Set Data Limit on Wifi Network in Windows 10

Sometimes we are on business trips and using internet services provided by the hotel. Normally up to some limit, they offer services free but then they start charging once we cross the threshold. This is also the case while we are using our mobile phone data.

At this point, it is necessary to ensure that we have set up the threshold limits to ensure that we do not consumes all of our data or being overcharged. To keep this track of your data usage on the data-sensitive network you can set the data limit.

Click on the start menu and then click on the settings icon to open Windows 10 settings.

On the settings homepage, click on Network & Internet.

On the left side options, click on Data Usage.

This will show how much data has been used with connecting Wifi. You can also see apps consuming most of the data by clicking view usage per app.

To apply data limits, select the wifi network from the option show settings for the drop-down list and then click the Set limit button.

The system will prompt you to define the limits, you can select limit type as Monthly, One time or Unlimited.

Then select monthly reset date from the dropdown list. Then enter the data limit as a number and then select the unit, either in megabytes (MB) or gigabytes (GB), Once done, click on save.

Your limit will be applied and will be shown as below.
