How to View Document Formatting in MS Word 2016

MS Word is the most widely used application to write a digital document. While writing a document, it is imperative to apply uniform formatting to the entire script. This is relatively an easy task when you are composing a document, but it is challenging to change the format of the text in the adopted document.

There is a Reveal Formatting Pane in MS Word to help you out by displaying the different formatting used in the document. This article is the set of guidelines to view the text formatting details in MS Word.  Follow the following steps to view the text formatting of your document.

Click on the Search icon in the taskbar of the Windows 10. Type Word and run the MS Word application by clicking on the MS Word icon.

Click on the Open option and open the Word file from your system in MS Word.

Select the selected paragraphs of the opened document. You can do it by pressing and holding Left click and dragging the cursor down.

Now, press Shift + F1 simultaneously to open the Reveal Formatting Pane in MS Word. Here you can see the Font, Paragraph, and Section options. By default, only the first line formatting will be displayed.

To compare the formatting of the whole document, Check the Compare to other selection option and see the formatting differences below.

The font differences, alignments, spacings, etc. values are displayed from the first selection to the most recent selection. The first value is for the first selected line, and the second value is for the latest selection.
