How to Remove Internet Explorer from Windows 10

Did you know Internet Explorer 11 is still part of Windows 10? Even though Microsoft redesigned its browser and are trying there best to compete with 3rd party browsers like Chrome and Firefox in shape of Microsoft Edge.

But apart from Edge Microsoft also installing Internet Explorer 10 along with the default installation of Windows 10.

You may not ever use it and in most cases, you may not even know that its still installed in Windows 10 as the default browser is now Microsoft edge, you can hardly find any application or web-based interface that only requires Internet Explorer 11, adding to this also none of the windows features require Internet Explorer 11.

Remove Internet Explorer from Windows 10

To remove internet explorer open Control Panel, Click on Programs:

Click on “Turn windows features on or off

Once you click on “Turn windows features on or off” a window will pop-up called Windows Features.

You will find Internet Explorer in this pop-up window, to uninstall this program un-check the box

It will prompt a message to verify this process click on Yes.

Then press the OK button in windows features window, it will proceed with the un-installation process.

It may require a restart once it will proceed with the uninstallation process.

After the un-installation process gets completed your computer will start using MS Edge browser as a default internet browser.

The reason it’s still available in Windows10 is because in few industries there are many platforms which works well with Internet explorer and may be Microsoft is targeting users who still prefer to use internet explorer.
