How to Reset Windows 10 PC

If your PC is not running the way, it should and it’s showing some strange errors. Or you just want to return it to its default state. Then, your Windows 10 provides two of options that let your PC return to its earlier state with or without losing your photos, videos, music or personal files.

The least invasive reset option is suitable for the people who want reset their PC without losing their files. Desktop apps and Windows apps must be reinstalled. Some users would want to start their computer over completely. Which removes everything and then reinstalls window.

Here’s how you can reset your PC. Click Start button. Go to “Settings”.

Click on “Update and Security” to open this option.

Click on “Recovery” option appeared on the left pane. Then, select “Get Started” mentioned below “Reset this PC”.

Now you will have two set of options available. One is “Keep my files” and other will be “Remove everything”.

Select appropriate option, according to your desire.

If you have multiple drives, then there will be two options available. You have to choose that whether you want to reset “Only the drives where window is installed” or “All drives”

According to your desire, select one of the available options. Then, Click “Next”. Press a final click on “Reset”. Resting process will begin just after the final click.

Note: Don’t panic if your resetting process is taking some time to get started. There might be the problem which can be fixed very quickly through Window Recovery Environment mode (WINRE). Please refer to below steps to resolve this problem.

As mentioned above, after clicking “Recovery” appeared on the left pane. Select “Restart Now” mentioned below the “Advanced Startup”.

Now, your operating system will reboot into Window Recovery Environment (WINRE) mode. Then, select “Troubleshoot”. Press final click on  “Reset this PC” option.
