Restore the Classic WordPress Widgets

WordPress is one of the most popular open-source projects in the world, it’s not surprising that there’s a new WordPress release every single month (if not more like two or three)!

Some of these releases are full new versions or critical security patches, they also bring unwanted changes to the back end for example “the Gutenberg” Uses a Blocks system to compose and format content, in other words; a more complicated way to create a simple post.

Now The WordPress 5.8 turned the classic widget screen into the a block-based widget screen. Creating compatibility issues for many sites.

To Restore and enable the WordPress classic widgets screen and disable the Gutenberg block editor from managing widgets. You must install and activate the “WordPress Restore and Enable Classic Widgets Plugin” By Bill Minozzi.

1. Go to Plugins –> Add New and search for “Restore and Enable Classic Widgets Plugin”. Click on the Install Now button, then after it’s done on “Activate

That is it. that is all you need to do to bring back the classic widgets screen and disable Gutenberg.
