In this article, we will learn how to restrict users from using this snipping tool for taking the snapshots letter on saving them as an image.

Let’s suppose the company where you are working as an IT engineer has bought more expensive paid software just like Snag It in order to fulfill their employees requirement of taking the snapshot and capturing the videos right away from the screen but the client came to know that there are few employees who are still using the snipping tool for capturing the images of taking screenshots and your client asks you to restrict users to access the snipping tool.

This can be done by implementing a group policy in the Windows Server let’s begin the process, First of all, open the Windows server by entering your administrator credentials and open the server manager.

Click on tools and then select group policy management. It will open up group policy management Windows console as shown in below mentioned figure.

Expand your forest folder and then expand your domains folder,  from their choose your required domain where you want to implement this group policy all over the network as in this case the name of domain is “usamazaka.local”.

Right click on it and select the first option “Create a GPO in this domain and link it here”

It will open up a new window console you to write the name of the policy as in this case I will name it as restrict users from using snipping tool.

Click “Ok” and go back to your domain and search for the newly created group policy.  Right click on it and then select the edit option.

Once group policy management editor windows console is open, expand policies and user configuration.

Expand administrative folder and then expand Windows component.

Scroll down and select tablet PC folder and expand it, from their select the accessories folder.

Double click on “do not allow snipping tool to run”

Select “enabled” and then click on Apply. Now whenever any user will open up the snipping tools the user will get the below mentioned error.

This is how you can restrict the users to use the snipping tool.
