How to Fix Windows 11 Keeps Crashing

There are various possible explanations for why Windows 11 continues to crash. It might be a hardware problem, an out-of-date driver, a Windows flaw, malware, or any number of other undetected issues.

Below are methods to help you repair a crashing Windows 11 PC.

Check for Updates

Press Windows Key + I to open Settings.

Go to Windows Update.

Click on Check for updates.

Check System Memory (RAM)

Press Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog.

Type mdsched.exe and press Enter.

Select Restart now and check for problems option.

After the PC restarts, it will boot into the diagnostic tool and check your RAM for problems.

Update Hardware Drivers

Type Device manager on your Windows search button.

When Device Manager opens, navigate through the list until you come across a red or yellow warning message.

Right-click on any device with the warning message and select Update driver.

Choose wether to search automatically for drivers or browse your computer for drivers and follow any on-screen instructions.

Check for Malware

Type windows security on your Windows search button.

Select Virus & threat protection from the left and click the Quick scan button.

Run DISM and SFC Scan

Right-click the Start button

Select Windows Terminal (Admin) from the menu.

Enter the following command in the terminal and hit Enter
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

After the DISM scan completes, run the following command
sfc /scannow

Reset Your PC to Factory Settings

Open Settings.

Go to System and click on Recovery.

Under Recovery options, select Reset PC.

Choose wether you want to keep your files or remove everything.
