How to Send Messages with Effects On iPhone

It can sometimes be boring to send a normal iPhone message to your loved ones. Using just words might not clearly convey your feelings and emotions at the time. Sometimes, even emoticons and specially arranged letters and punctuations might not be able to hit the nail on the head.

Fortunately, there are better ways to express yourself when sending messages. While a FaceTime call will certainly solve this problem, you might not be in a good location to make the call.

Apple has provided a lot of effects that can be added to the iPhone’s iMessage chats. You only need to know how to add them to enjoy the benefits.

How to Add Effects to Messages

First, launch the Message App on your device.

Next, input some characters into the text box.

Then hold on to the send arrow until the options (four dots) appear. Next, choose your preferred effect (do this by tapping the grey dots next to your preferred effect).

Finally, click the blue send icon to send.

There are two major types of effects; Screen and bubbles. Full-screen effects offer more options than bubble effects.

Some bubble effect examples are slam, loud, and invisible ink, while some full-screen effect examples are echo, love, lasers, fireworks, and confetti. Words such as “congratulations” and “happy new year” trigger specific effects.

You can select Screen effects by swiping left or right.
