How to Use Google Password Check Extension

Almost all the applications and services are running online for the ease of access to the users. From the social to professional life, a single user is dealing with various online apps and social networks. Privacy is the basic need of every single human being, but the dark side of internet services is the hacking of personal data.

Google is always up to the mark in providing secure online services to its users. Data breaching problem is not a big issue with google apps, but the other social and professional apps like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Hotmail, and Yahoo, etc. are not secured from data breaches.

Google launches a new extension for monitoring the data breaches of the user accounts. Password Checkup is the extension to notify you if your account sign in details is reported leaked in google database. You will have to immediately change your account password and make it secure for future use.

In this article, I will explain how we can check if the password we are using has been breached and available over the internet

Go to https://chrome.google.com/webstore and search for Password Checkup extension.

Click on the Add to Chrome button to add Password Checkup extension to your google chrome web browser. Click on Add extension button at the bottom.

Google Chrome will download and install the extension for you. After successful installation of the Password Checkup extension, you will be notified about the extension installation with a pop-up message.

Password Checkup icon will appear on your chrome taskbar at the top.

Open any of your social or professional accounts in google chrome. Password checkup will notify you about the safety of your account login details.

NOTE: If your account data has been breached in the past and was noticed by Google, Password Checker extension will immediately give you a threat alert. Otherwise, you can click on the extension icon to view your security status.
