How to Install Windows Server Administration Tools on Windows 10

As a server administrator, we use windows 7, 8.1, or Windows 10. These operating systems are used for end-user computing. As a server administrator, you need to connect to many servers to perform many tasks. When it comes to AD servers, Microsoft has launched a bunch of tools known as remote server administration tools.

These tools are available for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. We will install Windows remote server administration tools on Windows 10. please follow the following steps to install and use win remote server admin tools on Windows 10.

Go to Download Windows Server Administration Tool Web Page.

Select what version you want to download. For windows server 2016 select WindowsTH-RSAT_WS2016-x64.msu for other versions select WindowsTH-RSAT_WS_1709-x64.msu.

Once download, Install the downloaded software.

Once installation completed. Click on close. It will not ask for the restart.  Now when you will click on start menu it will show recently added items on top.

You can also access the remote admin tools by going to start menu and then clicking on Windows Administration Tools.

Now you have all of the active directory administration tools accessible on your Windows 10 computer.

To get a detailed list of installed programs. Goto to Control Panel of your computer and click on Administrative tools.

When you open Administrative tools, you can see the all of the components of remote server administration installed on your computer.

Now if you want to access the DHCP server settings, click on the DHCP icon and connect it to DHCP server. You can manage those settings.

If you want to add or remove a user in your active directory, you can open Active Directory Users and Computer enter you active directory server name to get connected to that server and once you are done you can manage your users, computers, distribution groups, and security groups without logging to your actual active directory server.
