Click on the Start button and type Excel, open the MS Excel application.

Click on the File and Open the MS Excel file containing dates.

In the top ribbon of MS Excel, click on the Formula button and select Date & Time.

As soon as WEEKDAY is selected, a Function Argument window will pop up. In this window, you have to give the address of the Date cell value in Serial Number. There will be a number ranging 1-7 will appear in front of date cell. This is the Day Number of the week. Sunday is given as the 1 place in MS Excel. Right click on the Day Number and select Format Cells.

In Format Cells window, select Custom option in number category and in Type option, write dddd. This will convert the numeric Day Number to the text form.

Now, drag down the cell with Day Name till the end of the column, All the days will be displayed corresponding to the dates written in the respective cells.
