In this article, I will explain how we can create forms using Microsoft Word. forms are used to input data in a particular format so that every document will have the required input as well as the required format of the document. This feature is used in application processing, survey collection, data collection and many others.
To create a form in Microsoft word 2016 you have to enable developer option. developer options are not available by default so you will not be able to create forms related input fields like text input, radio button, checkbox, multiple selection options.
To enable the developer’s mode click on file menu and click on options.
Now click on customize ribbon on the right side you will get menu related options under Customise ribbon, click on the checkbox in front of developers option and then click ok.
Once done you will see developer option in the menu bar of Microsoft Word 2016.
In developer menu, In the control group, you will have forms related options available.
Click on the textbox to enter a box that will enable user to enter text input. You can also create a drop-down list to give the options to select from.
To change the properties of the input field or set some restrictions or attributes on the input field, select that input field and click on properties In control box you will get all of the attribute setting options for that specific input field.
In Properties, you will have a lot of customization options like setting up the name of the input field and many other options like the selectable values.
You can also set up the background color for input fields. You can also enable the options if you allow the user that if we can delete the control box if you want to restrict the user not to delete the input box or any other form related field click on the checkbox Against the option cannot delete the content control.
These steps will allow you to enable the developer menu and insert form fields in Microsoft Office 2016.
