2 Ways To Uninstall Microsoft Edge From Windows 11 or 10

As we all know Microsoft is making all of its efforts to make Microsoft Edge powerful and efficient enough that it can hold the primary position in the browser market.

There are still many users who don’t want to use Microsoft Edge and if you don’t want to use it, why have it on your computer.

In this article, I will explain how we can uninstall the Microsoft Edge browser from your Windows PC.

There are many ways to do this, I will explain one by one.

How to uninstall Microsoft Edge through Windows Settings

To uninstall Microsoft Edge using windows settings, Click on the start menu and start typing Settings. Click on it to open it.

Once opened, click on the App to access the Apps.

In Apps Windows, search for Edge, once found click on it, and then click on Uninstall button to Uninstall it.

For most of the users, you may experience that the uninstalled option is grayed out. For this, you have to follow the other steps mentioned below to uninstall Microsoft Edge.

Uninstall Microsoft Edge with Command Prompt

To uninstall Microsoft Edge using the command prompt, open the Edge browser and click on the three dots on the top right corner. Click on Help & Feedback and then click on About Microsoft Edge.

Note the version of Edge installed on your PC.

Now run command prompt as an administrator, click on the start menu and type cmd, then click on Run as Administrator.

Goto to Microsoft Edge directory in Program file, you can use the below command.

cd %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Microsoft\Edge\Application\<Edge Version>\Installer 

Replace the <Edge Version> with the version number you have just noted and press Enter.

Now run the below command

setup.exe –uninstall –system-level –verbose-logging –force-uninstall

Once done, Microsoft Edge will be uninstalled without restarting your PC.
