Import / Export Lists of Servers in Windows Server 2012 Server Manager

As an alternative of physically organizing each management workstation with the equivalent set of probably tens or hundreds of servers, you can spread Server Manager’s settings away from one device and practice them on other computers.

Fundamentally, there are two procedures of partaking information between computers. One is the informal way, but it might have radical penalties on user profile and mechanism of approaching onto the network. The second one is insignificant to a manual process, but when it’s completed, it has no magnitudes on a profile.

The difficulty with this method is to form a condition in which an administrator’s profile is twisted into a wandering profile, and that is immoral. In today’s GPO-managed surroundings, having a wandering profile just to duplicate a pair of files. Roaming profiles gross vast amount of disk space on all the computers where user logs onto, and takes plenty of time and bandwidth to sync when the user logs off, this happens each time a user logs on or logs off.

As stated, one of the methods to transfer settings to another domain-joined computer is by organizing the user’s account for the user that’s about to use Server Manager to have a roaming user profile. This is done in Active Directory Users and Computers by editing the user’s account properties.

Following is done to use this approach:

In Active Directory Users and Computers, open Properties dialog box to use Server Manager.

On the Profile tab, add a path to a network share to store the user’s profile. Click OK.

To manually spread surroundings to the additional computer, copy the preceding two files from first computers to the same location on the second computer to manage, by using Server Manager.

%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\ServerManager\ServerList.xml

%appdata%\Local\Microsoft_Corporation\ServerManager.exe_StrongName_GUID\6.2.0.0\user.config

To make a change in management workstations repeat the process.
