Fix Nvidia GeForce Experience Unable to Open Share

The Nvidia GeForce Experience application allows users to automatically capture and save video clips of noteworthy moments in games using Nvidia Share. However, some users have reported that they are unable to open the Share feature in Nvidia GeForce Experience.

If you have been experiencing difficulties when trying to access the Share button, we have gathered some potential solutions to troubleshoot this issue.

Why can’t I open Share in Nvidia?

There could be several reasons why you are unable to open the Share feature in Nvidia. Here are some possible explanations:

Interference from antivirus or firewall: Antivirus software or firewall settings may be blocking specific components of GeForce Experience, including the Share feature.

Corrupt or incompatible installation: Your installation of GeForce Experience might be corrupted or incompatible, which can affect the Share feature.

Exe file settings: If the “run as administrator” option is enabled for the main executable file, it could prevent the use of the Share feature.

Disable administrative privileges for the nvspcaps64.exe file

Press Win + E to open File Explorer.

In the search bar, type C:/Program Files/NVIDIA Corporation/Shadowplay and press Enter.

Look for the file named nvspcaps64.exe, right-click it, and select Properties from the menu.

Go to the Compatibility tab and uncheck the Run this program as an administrator option.

Click Apply and OK.

The nvspcaps64.exe file is responsible for running Nvidia Share, and by default, it is set to run with administrative privileges. After disabling this option, launch GeForce Experience and verify if the issue still occurs.

Uninstall and reinstall GeForce Experience

Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.

Type appwiz.cpl and press enter to open the Programs and Features window.

Right-click on Nvidia GeForce Experience and select Uninstall from the options.

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstallation process.

After uninstalling, visit the official Nvidia website and download the latest version of Nvidia GeForce Experience.

Run the installer and follow the instructions to reinstall GeForce Experience.

Run Nvidia Share as an administrator

Press Win + E to open File Explorer.

In the search bar, type C:/Program Files (x86)/NVIDIA Corporation/NVIDIA GeForce Experience and press Enter.

Under the Compatibility tab, select the Run this program as an administrator option to enable it.

Click Apply and OK.

On your keyboard, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

Under the Processes tab, right-click on Nvidia processes and select End task.

Open File Explorer again and enter C:/Program Files (x86)/NVIDIA Corporation/NVIDIA GeForce Experience in the search bar.

Select Run as administrator.

This method is different from the first one because you will be directly working with the Nvidia Share file itself. Once you’ve followed the steps mentioned above, all you need to do is restart the GeForce Experience app.

By doing this, it is expected that the problem of being unable to open Share in Nvidia will be resolved.
