Recover Deleted Sticky Notes in Windows 11

Sticky Notes is a pre-installed application on Windows 11 that allows you to take notes quickly, helping you remember important tasks and avoid forgetting anything.

In the event that you accidentally delete some notes and are attempting to retrieve them, you may check the Recycle Bin. however, it is possible that the notes are not there. Fortunately, there is a method to recover the notes.

Check the sticky notes files

Press Win + E and open your Username’s main folder.

Select the folders in order

Appdata > Local > Packages.

Look for Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe and open it.

Open Local State folder and look for StickyNotes.snt or plum.sqlite.

Open it in NotePad and the lost sticky notes should be there.

Reset the app

Press Win + I to open Settings.

Go to Apps and select Installed Apps.

Look for Sticky notes and click the three dots beside it.

Select Advanced options.

Click the Reset button or Repair button.

Prevent notes from being deleted

Open Sticky Notes and click the Settings icon.

Toggle on the confirm before deleting.

Reset the Microsoft Store cache

Press Win + R to open the run dialog.

Type in wsreset and press Enter.

Wait for it to finish and it will automatically open.
